I had been trying to keep away from social media writers groups. I’ve always been a little worried about leaking ideas that may get snapped up by somebody with more time to develop my ideas.
But after some thought, I decided to join some large writer groups on Facebook.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that these groups were not actually announcing there story ideas, but they are rather places to go to get hints and tips about writing styles and even writing software.
To be honest, I don’t see the need for specialist writing software. Writers have got by for hundreds of years with paper. But I was tempted to look at software that helps layout your plot lines and develop characters. This is something that I intend to look into a little further as soon as I get some spare time to weigh up the pros and cons.
I have also joined these groups to hopefully generate some link backs to this blog. I understand a little bit about search engine optimisation, and the need to gather backlinks. I’m hoping there are fellow bloggers who are willing to swap links.
Writing this post has also reminded me that I have not added any social media icons/links/buttons.
